My “About” section of my blog, states-

Life! Everyone has got one, me included. “I’m Annette!” is my take on things, the things that I like about life. In a light-hearted manner, it is here, where I can discuss a favorite recipe that I have, or a new one discovered, along with my love of classic movies and TV. As a hobby blogger, my blog is my opportunity to sit down with you for a quick chat about where my travels take me, sharing a photo, or two. Interspersed throughout our conversation, pride in my family is sure to be evident, as well. So, it is my hope that with each blog post, you will feel compelled to grab a cup of tea (or coffee), and settle into a comfy chair, relax, taking the time for a little visit with me, Annette. :o)

My blogging mission (and yes, I have decided to accept it.  haha) is to continue to keep this blog as light-hearted, as possible.  So, let’s talk about St. Patrick’s Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I find that this time of year, I find myself smiling, thinking back warmly to my brief   2013 trip to Ireland.  The classic film, The Quiet Man, had always tugged at me, urging me to see this bit of Ireland for myself, and I count myself fortunate to have been able to do so with my hubby.  It was a wonderful three-day trip!

A Fun Food “Craft”

Shamrock Pretzels created by my pre-school grandchildren.

A friend passed along this food “craft” to me (Thanks, Jodie). I made them with my pre-school aged grand children.  It was a fun project that they enjoyed, and tasty, too!  As with most recipes, I changed it up a little, so I wrote up my instructions below.

Place candy kiss in middle of pretzels,
making sure that the kiss covers some of each of the four pretzels.

Recipe

Easy Shamrock Pretzels

Version 2

Ingredients

Pretzel Sticks

Mini Pretzel Twists
(not the itty bitty mini variety)

Candy Kisses
(unwrapped)

Green regular m & m’s
(I bought a large bag, and pulled the green ones for this.)

Directions

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
(Make sure oven is totally preheated.)

On parchment-covered baking sheet,
place three mini pretzels and one pretzel stick to
make shamrock shape. (See photo, above)

Place candy kiss in middle of pretzels,
making sure that the kiss covers some of each of the four pretzels.

Bake for 2 minutes, just until chocolate begins to melt and get soft.

Remove from oven.
Press m&m into middle of the kiss.

Place in refrigerator until set.

Enjoy!

It always brightens my day to read your blog! I had no idea Sean was in an Irish film. Fun to learn and read about him and the film. Craziness these times. Stay safe and healthy my friend!
