Look Ma, No Boot!
The Continuing Saga of my Broken-leg Adventures
(Plus, Disney Recipes!)
Look Ma, no boot!
I am so happy to be without my boot/cast,
even if it means wearing these “oh, so stylish” orthopedic shoes.
I sit at my kitchen table, sipping on a soothing cup of steaming hot tea. I gaze out the window, all warm and cozy, as I write this, my most recent blog post to you. Currently, it is a winter wonderland outside; a real White Christmas, snow globe scene! Pristine, pure white snowflakes silently make flight downward, to blanket the cold, hard ground.
I think back to another wintery day, just a couple of months ago, January 9th to be exact. It was on that fateful day that my broken-leg adventure began with one quick, unfortunate slip on the ice. I am happy to report that on March 7th, my physician officially declared me boot-free! Hooray!!!
A close-up of my now boot-less right leg.
I am so looking forward to walking without any discernible limp in the near future, as well as regaining my pre-broken leg stamina. I am guessing that the several upcoming weeks of physical therapy and exercises will see to that. :o) (I have had two physical therapy sessions thus far.)

Love Your Mickey Mouse Ears!
Did you notice my sparkly Mickey Mouse ears in the top photo? My daughter knows/shares my love of Disney, and recently sent me these ears for my March 2nd birthday. The ears are on a comfortable headband, and are interchangeable. I can be sparkly one day, and It’s a Small World ( one of my favorite Disney World rides) the next! :o)
My birthday box filled with Mickey Ears.
Want your very own Mickey Ears? You can find them here and here.
(No, I am not getting paid to pass this information along to you. :o))
When not in use, my It’s a Small World ears make their home in my
clothes closet, next to my Small World clock from Etsy,
my Oz (Wizard of Oz) letters (a gift from my son, one year.
Hey, my family knows what I like! :o)),
and the wedding garter from when I got married in 1978.

For the rest of 2018, about one post per month, I/ I’m Annette will be working my way through (skipping those that do not interest me) the vintage Disney cookbook Cooking with Mickey Around Our World. I will share the recipes with you, and give you my feedback about Mickey’s creations in the parks.
